This site is a repository of resources and information on the visual design of do-it-yourself guitar pedals that I have gathered and compiled while making my own pedals. The design challenges are what got me excited about building my own pedals in the first place. I understand that others may be much more excited about the circuitry and electronics of pedals and might consider enclosure decoration and customization to be somewhere between an afterthought and a cherry on top - for me the joy I get from this hobby is a very even split between the two.
The humble pedal is a challenging medium with unique characteristics and visual histories, on top of being a physical user interface - a kind of interface most of us designers are no longer tasked with creating.
If you're familiar with my guitar pedal designs, I'm available for commissions! Just email me at alex at fine dot rip. I'm also more than happy to provide design help / feedback for free.
